Disney: Zootopia 2 Drops First Trailer, Poster & New Feline Voice Star Ahead of 2026 Release

Disney is taking fans back to the bustling animal metropolis of Zootopia with the highly anticipated Zootopia 2, and now we’ve got our first real taste of what’s in store. A fresh teaser trailer, new stills, and a vibrant poster have just dropped alongside the reveal of a new feline character set to shake things up when the animated sequel hits theaters this fall 2026.

The original Zootopia, which debuted in 2016, became a critical and box office smash, grossing over $1 billion globally and winning the Academy Award for Best Animated Feature. Nearly a decade later, Judy Hopps and Nick Wilde are back and they’re not alone.

The newly released trailer doesn’t give away too much plot-wise, but it teases a deeper dive into the social and political layers that made the first film so resonant. Fans will be thrilled to see Judy and Nick teaming up again, with the animation looking more stunning than ever. The poster shows off the city’s trademark vibrancy and diversity, hinting at an adventure that spans the entire animal kingdom.

But the biggest surprise? A new character voiced by a yet-to-be-disclosed celebrity, reportedly playing a street-smart supporting cat who becomes an unlikely ally to the lead duo. While Disney has remained tight-lipped about the character’s name, the stills reveal a sleek, wide-eyed feline who looks ready to pounce into the action and maybe steal a few scenes.

Returning voice talents include Ginnifer Goodwin as Judy and Jason Bateman as Nick, with Byron Howard and Jared Bush, co-directors of the original, once again at the helm. Zootopia 2 will expand on the original’s themes of identity, inclusion, and justice—promising more heart, humor, and timely commentary.
