Fan favorite, Dorinda Medley announced on Instagram that she is leaving the cast of Real Housewives of New York City after six seasons. According to an Daily Mail report, Bravo actually fired Medley from the show however the reason why has not been publicly disclosed.
Medley took to Instagram moments after the network firing with a post:
“What a journey this has been. I have laughed and cried and tried to Make it Nice…But all things must come to an end. This was a great outlet for me to heal when my late husband Richard passed away,” said Medley. “I have met so many interesting people and learned so much about myself, about life and about women along the way. Thank you to Bravo and NBC for the incredible ride and to my cast mates for constant stimulation and entertainment. I wish you all health, happiness and success. Clip! -Dorinda”
The shocking announcement was accompanied by a photo of herself in a black halter keyhole dress adorned with silver sequins, possibly Jovani? The dress was paired with a black glittering fan.
Bethenny Frankel shared a picture along with the caption: ‘Every woman in this world wears a little sparkle, some in their dress, and some in their eyes. Bravo’s Andy Cohen commented "What a ride. Unforgettable" followed by Lisa Rinna's comment "True Queen."
Franchise castmates: Melissa Gorga, Tamra Judge and Erika Girardi aka Erika Jayne also offered their support Dorinda.
Medley’s departure follows on the exit of fellow cast member Tinsley Mortimer, who left the RHONY franchise to move to Chicago and engage her longtime boyfriend, Scott Kluth. The current season (season 12) shows Dorinda’s continued struggle with the death of her ex husband, Richard Medley, who died in 2011. For the first time on the show, we see Medley alone.
Her daughter, Hannah Lynch has moved out of their New York townhome and Medley has endured an emotional break up with longtime boyfriend, John Mahdessian, during the May 14 episode. Several episodes montage the 55-year-old feuding and sometimes bullying her co-stars throughout the season. The reality TV star also receives criticism during Season 12 from her co-star, Ramona Singer, of all people.
