Inside Amazon Prime Video's Grindhouse VIP Experience to Preview 'Hunters'-Los Angeles

Amazon Prime Video kicked off its activation for a VIP Preview of “Hunters” and the Grindhouse Experience on Tuesday night (Feb 18) by transforming a block of Figueroa Street in Highland Park (Los Angeles) into 1970s New York.

Amazon went all out for fans with a fully immersive Hunters Grindhouse Experience, complete with costumed actors dressed as 70s New York street vendors and sidewalks lined with vintage taxicabs and cars. We arrived early to an already very long line. The activation included redesigned signage on surrounding neighborhood landmarks including taking over Highland Park Bowl and refacing it to “Hunters Alley” to promote the new series Hunters, produced by Jordan Peele and starring Al Pacino. Amazon's new historical fiction series is about Nazi hunters in New York circa 1977. The storyline claims to be based on true events and you can start binge watching it tomorrow, February 21.

Upon entering the theater we were greeted with a gift bag. To the left were tables with boxes of free limited edition 'Hunters' comic books. Guests were treated to complimentary popcorn, candy and refreshments. Several cast members paid a surprise visit to the audience before the screening started.

Afterwards, we headed across the street to the after-party at the Highland Park Bowl—renamed 'Hunters Alley' with themed cocktails, New York-style pizza and free bowling.

The most important part of this whole experience is that everything is free to attend (you’ll just need to secure a ticket), and shows run on the hour from 3 to 10pm on Thursday and Friday, plus to 1 to 10pm on Saturday. The activation will continue to take over Highland Park and be open to public from February 20-23rd. A link to reserve tickets and view the trailer can be found HERE.
