Helping the homeless population in Los Angeles is a cause that’s near and dear to Straumietis’s heart. Humanity Heroes is a recent rebrand of Holiday Heroes, a non-profit he started in 2016. To date, BigMike’s philanthropic efforts have led to donations of more than $500k in non-perishable items to benefit the homeless community. Ghetto Kitchen Soul Food, a local catering company provided lunch for all the volunteers that helped out.

“I’ve had to overcome countless obstacles to get to where I am today, and none of that would be possible without the support of a solid community,” said Straumietis, “That’s why I’m so passionate about providing people with the tools they need to build a solid foundation on which they can see real, tangible growth.”

A donation check was presented to My Friend's House Foundation in the amount of $5k from Humanity Heroes. The event took place at: 540 San Pedro Street - across the street from The Union Mission where donations are accepted every Wednesday by My Friend's House Foundation.
