August 18, 2020
A new season of “Dancing With the Stars” returns with a lineup of diversified pro dancers and the debut of Tyra Banks to join the massively successful franchise as the first Black female host hired on the show.
On Tuesday (Aug 18) GMA revealed a list of 29 pro-dancers to compete for the mirror ball trophy 2020 including the announcement of DWTS first-ever, Black female pro, Britt Stewart. Hard to believe it took this long for the network to cast women of color but it's true. Stewart he has toured and performed alongside artists such as Florence + The Machine, Rihanna, Demi Lovato, Janet Jackson, and was one of Katy Perry's dancers on her Prismatic World Tour.
She embarked on her professional dance career at the young age of twelve. Stewart specialized in modern and cultural dance styles at the renowned Denver School of Arts as well as Loyola Marymount University for their modern and ballet program.
