Brooke Hogan Olesky, daughter of late wrestling icon Hulk Hogan, has broken her silence following fan backlash for her absence from recent WWE tribute events celebrating her father’s legacy. The former reality TV star and singer revealed that her absence was not by choice—but rather, she was never invited.

Taking to her Instagram Stories on Wednesday, Olesky wrote, “For those of you giving me crap for not attending my Dad’s tributes, the WWE did not extend an invite.” The surprising claim adds a new layer to the already complex and private family dynamics that have emerged following Hogan’s death on July 24 at the age of 71.

In a longer message shared to her followers earlier in the week, Olesky explained her decision to distance herself from her famous father in the years leading up to his passing. After moving her family to Florida to support him through a series of surgeries, she said she made the painful choice to cut off communication for her own emotional well-being after “respectful disagreements.”

“I broke off contact with him to protect my heart,” she shared, adding that her husband, professional hockey player Steven Oleksy, quietly maintained a line of communication with Hogan in hopes of facilitating a possible reconciliation.

“In the end, he continued to be a financial success for man,” she added, noting that his commitment to work came at the cost of his physical health. “He’s been working and tearing his body apart his entire life… He knew I would run through a burning building for him. And in many ways, along the path of life, I did. He knows how deeply, how hard, and how purely I loved him. I am at peace knowing this.”

The statement comes on the heels of a TMZ report claiming Olesky asked to be removed from her father’s will two years prior, citing a lack of trust in the people surrounding him. The decision was made, according to sources, to avoid future legal or financial entanglements with Hogan’s estate.

Olesky, who rose to fame on the reality show Hogan Knows Best and with her single “About Us,” has kept a relatively low profile in recent years. In January, she and Oleksy welcomed fraternal twins. The joyous announcement was followed by more family drama when her mother, Linda Hogan, posted online that she hadn’t been informed of the birth—or even invited to Brooke’s wedding.

Addressing that fallout, Olesky shared in another post, “For my own journey to healing and happiness, I have chosen to create some distance between myself and my family, and am focusing on people and things that heal my heart and align with my own personal beliefs, goals and values. I wish him well.”

Brooke is the eldest child and only daughter of Hulk and Linda Hogan, who divorced in 2009 after more than two decades of marriage. The couple also shares a son, Nick Hogan.

Hulk Hogan, born Terry Bollea, was inducted twice into the WWE Hall of Fame and remains one of the most recognizable figures in the history of professional wrestling. While tributes continue to pour in from around the world, it appears that the wounds within his own family remain raw.
