Lionsgate CEO Jon Feltheimer confirms Jennifer Grey will reprise her role as "Baby" in new Dirty Dancing Movie

Feltheimer told Deadline the movie will be very much like the beloved 1987 original. The first Dirty Dancing movie, which starred Grey and the late Patrick Swayze. The original 1987 movie, grossed $218 million worldwide on a budget of just $5 million.

“It will be exactly the kind of romantic, nostalgic movie that the franchise’s fans have been waiting for and that have made it the biggest-selling library title in the company’s history,” Feltheimer said.

Sadly her co-star Patrick Swayze died in September 2009 at the age of 57 due to pancreatic cancer. Lionsgate has not released further details on who will replace Swayze’s role (if at all) in the new film.
